This course is an introduction to various forms of literature for ninth/tenth-graders. The curriculum will revolve around learning how to write various types of texts and the purpose of writing while conveying complex ideas that are clear and effective. Students will also be able to learn various conventions of English and how such conventions are used in reading and writing. In this class, students are required to read one book every two weeks that are outside of the curriculum, making sure to fill out their book report sheet and conduct a book discussion with an approved faculty. Each book needs to fall under a certain genre that the whole class will be following for the time being.

This is an advanced course for ninth/tenth-grade students. The curriculum will revolve around various conversations within literature while learning about different genres and modes of writing throughout different courses of history. From multicultural books to gender studies, students are expected to demonstrate knowledge of foundational works of American literature, including fiction and non-fiction. Students will be able to understand the purpose of literary research and the importance of language functions in complex texts. In this class, students are required to read one book every two weeks that are outside of the curriculum, making sure to fill out their book report sheet and conduct a book discussion with an approved faculty. Each book needs to fall under a certain genre that the whole class will be following for the time being.
